Swimming and Covid-19 Series

Dear Kwazulu Natal Aquatics Member.

Following the many request from members for more regular updates we have started a series of weekly newsletters to keep you up to date with our plans. The last few weeks have taken a great toll on our stakeholders. It has been a stressful time, for not only our athletes who have not been able to train and compete, but more so for the coaches and swim teachers whose economic livelihood is fully dependent on a sustainable sports economy. We will be sending you an update on our response plans to the new Risk adjusted Approach and relaxation of the Lockdown Restrictions on Friday the 1st May.

In the interim we want to ensourage you to assisst us in our fund raising campiagn  for swim teachers and coaches. The Covid-19 Lockdown has resulted in 115 KwaZulu-Natal Aquatics Swim Coaches and Swim Teachers losing their income in March, April and possibly into June as all swimming pools have been closed.

No Coaching has meant No Salary!
Coaching and Teaching children to swim was their sole source of income. No Coaching has meant No Salary! We are raising funds to provide a minimum income for them and their families to tide them over during these trying times.

Every year over 600 children drown in South Africa & Swim Teachers /Coaches have been instrumental in reducing drowning in KZN. One Swim Teacher can teach over 400 children to swim in a year!

Our vision is 'Every Child a Swimmer". We are calling on your humanitarian spirit in these difficult times. Your child could have been taught to swim by one of these Swim Teachers or Coaches.

KZNA has setup a facility which is now functional and allows you to make a donation into the KZN Aquatics Account. Donations start from as little as R100!

Is PayFast secure?
Absolutely! And often more so than many other payment methods!
  • PayFast is PCI DSS Level 1 Service Provider (the highest level).
  • PayFast is developed with the same demands on security and performance as web sites used for banking services and share trading. Your account login, personal details, and all money transactions are secured using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology with high security 256 bit encryption.
  • Your sensitive financial information (like credit/debit card details) is never sent to the people you pay! So you can send money without sending your financial information! So you don't need to worry about paying people you don't know.
  • Payfast uses of 3D Secure to further enhance the security of credit card transactions. .
